Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!  I was a little sad not to be at the lake with my family for the 4th but good friends and food in Alexandria made up for it!  On the menu: steak, grilled pineapple, corn, onions, portabella mushrooms with home made pesto and parmesan, pasta salad, tabouleh and tomato salad with goat cheese, and our favorite hot dogs with cheese in the middle!  Really they were for the kids, but I know every adult was eying them. . .wishing it were still acceptable for us to eat.  And for dessert. . .strawberries with whipping cream, pumpkin cookie sandwiches and sugar cookies with sprinkles.

Reagan helped make sugar cookies in the shape of a star for the party.  Really I think he was in it for the cookie dough!

Let the Party Begin!

Morgan set up a kiddie pool that mostly Reagan and Lila enjoyed.  They spent hours hopping in and out, spitting water, sliding, filling up cups and dumping them out.  The best part was watching them interact and giggle with one another.  They have their own language that somehow only they understand!
Beautiful girlfriends!

Look at those sprinkles!  At one point Reagan put the bottle of sprinkles to his mouth for a taste.  Yummy!

Looks like Lila and Reagan are having a very serious conversation. . .probably devising a plan to get more cookies with sprinkles.

Letting Jeanna in on the plan. . .wonder if it worked?

Matt treated Reagan to his first sparkler while we talked about  whether or not Reagan's pajamas were flame retardant or flame resistant.  Either way I was just praying that he wouldn't catch on fire!
