Ellen & Lizzie Visit

Today Ellen & Lizzie came over to see us the boys. I am starting to believe that Ellen just pretends that she wants to see us when she visits DC...really she just wants to spend time with Reagan and Camp.  Her first note of business was to deliver kisses from Auntie Mari!  xoxo Mari! Moments after that she reminds us that we are free to go to lunch, see a movie, whatever.  I believe it is code word for "Go on, get out of here!"  Ellen & Lizzie had a great time playing while we went to see the King's Speech.  Such a great movie I might add.  We came home to find that Ellen had made yummy Chicken Pot Pie & Lizzie got all the ingredients ready to make milk chocolate & white chocolate chip cookies.  Nom....nom...nom...

 Loves!

So as you can see Reagan is quite drawn to the ipad.  Today Lizzie taught him how to play Fruit Ninja.  Apparently since they are half Asian they are supposed to be good at it?  Hmmm...

He isn't so great about sharing turns with Mom though.

Camp even wanted in on the action.

Did I mention Camp now loves climbing?

Can't wait for your next visit Ellen!  Thank you for the yummy dinner and free babysitting!

More fun in the snow!

A little video from earlier today!

This afternoon I took the boys over to Steve & Jess' house for some more fun in the snow.  We sure do miss having them as neighbors!

 Caden & Camp

The kids in the cul-de-sac spent all day building a fort and Reagan was super excited to help out.

 Peek
 a boo!

Finally...Our first REAL snow of 2011

Mother Nature finally came through for me.  Winter just doesn't seem complete without a good snowstorm and I think Reagan agrees with me.  This morning when he woke up he ran to the window, pulled back the curtains and said "Oh it's so beautiful!"  We are enjoying the day at home, playing in the snow.

Don't you just want to kiss those chubby little cheeks!

Futile Attempt at a Baby Gate

I am wondering how long it is going to take him to figure out that he just has to move the chairs to get up the stairs?  Sheesh...must get out to Target tonight to get another baby gate!

Playseum

Today we ventured out to the Playseum in Bethesda.

 Beep!  Beep!  Coming through!

Reagan found steaks and oranges to put in his cart.  That's a balanced diet, right?

Nom...nom...nom...nothing like putting every ball from the ball room in our mouth.
Crossing our fingers we didn't pick up some nasty germs today!

Enviously watching Reagan decorate his cupcake.  Camp is not happy if others are eating without him.

As you can see we had a lot of fun!

At home...
Looks like we need to put up another gate.  This weekend Camp decided that he is ready to start climbing the stairs.  I lost sight of him for a few minutes and found him on the 4th stair trying to get at Isabella.  Looks like she is going to have to keep moving up if she is going to get away from him - or - that maybe it's time we invest in another gate to keep him from climbing up the stairs.

Swimming

Kai is out of town and I am doing a good job keeping us busy!  Even though the temperatures outside were cold frigid, I took the boys to the Germantown Swim Center for a little swim.  I wish I had pictures of them in the pool but water and my camera don't exactly mix and I was already short on hands.  Reagan was ecstatic to see Uncle Scott and his cousins, Maren, Elise & Jackson.

Camp hanging out in his pj's after his swim.
Thankfully I brought his pajamas for Camp because he fell asleep 2.5 seconds into our drive home.  Reagan on the other hand stayed up and chatted with me the whole way home.

 Isn't the pool fantastic?

Camp at 10 months

Kai and I were talking about how quickly the last 10 months have gone by.  In just 2 short months we will have a 1 year old!  I can't believe it!

At 10 months Camp is:
  • Walking...I still am in denial and can't get enough of his cutle little bum waddling around
  • Words: Mama, Mom, Dada, and a whole lot of gibberish
  • Clearly knows when he shouldn't be doing something and does it anyway
  • Teeth - 6 and counting...he suddenly sprouted two at the same time.  This could possibly explain why he hasn't been the best sleeper this last week:( Poor Mommy & Daddy!
  • Drinks from a sippy cup.  In fact we have to keep a close eye on him because he likes to steal Reagan's sippy cups.  At Daycare Camp has to stay in his highchair until everyone else is done eating because he is also known to take food from the other kids!
  • Loves graham crackers
  • Enjoys playing "pat-a-cake"
  • Learning to hold his own with big brother Reagan.  He doesn't like it when he isn't allowed to play with Reagan's toys.  They are learning to share with one another.
  • Instantly calms down when Reagan sings to him
  • Loves snuggling with Daddy in the morning

Playdate with Aidan

Today was our first official snow day of the season.  As teachers we hope and pray for lots at least a few of these each year...and we might as well take advantage since we have 5 of them built in to our school year.

Today we headed over to Michelle's house to play with Aidan.  We ordered our usual, Mama Lucia's pizza (a little secret...on Tuesdays their pizzas are buy one get the 2nd for $2.99 such a steal) and let the boys play for several hours.

Aidan is one lucky boy, he has just about every toy out there!  Reagan couldn't decide what to play with first.

Aidan is getting so big!  He is already 15 months old.

One of my favorite toys is Aidan's miniature grill.  It came equipped with all the fixings for a real BBQ!
Reagan was trying to see if the BBQ would bite him since the mouth moves up and down as it talks.

Thanks Michelle for a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Emilia!

Happy Birthday Emilia

Yay for Snow Days!

Really there isn't much snow...more ice than snow, but don't think I need any more words to express how I feel about today!  We are headed out for a play date at my friend Michelle's house.

Visit from Jeanna

Jeanna and I got to sneak off for a lunch date while the boys napped!  Upon our return Camp showed Jeanna how sharp his little teethers are!  Ouch!

Reagan enjoyed playing Angry Birds on Jeanna's new ipad and now thinks we should be getting one for him.  Maybe someday.

It was a lot of fun for the two of us to catch up with each other!

National Building Museum

Today we visited the National Building Museum.  This museum features various exhibits about architecture, as well as hands on activities for little ones.  Our favorites - the Lego Exhibit and the Kids Building Zone.

Lego Exhibit
The exhibit features famous buildings from around the world that are made out of Legos.  Most of the buildings featured are from Chicago.  Fitting since Chicago is well known for it's amazing architecture.

Recognize this one?  Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water in Pennsylvania

Yet to be finished, the Chicago Spire

The Building Zone

When we got home Uncle Scott stopped by for a quick visit.

You can't really tell from this picture...but they really love playing around with each other!
