Happy Birthday Burke!

Today is my nephew Burke's birthday!  When Burke was born I lived at my sister and Scott's house.  They lived about an hour out of town, but on Scott's days off they would come to Spokane and stay at their house.  I got to see Burke a lot!  When we moved back east he was just about 2.  Not many know this (except Kai) but when we moved it made me terribly homesick to talk to or about Burke.  He holds a really special place in my heart.  He always asks about his cousin Reagan and every time we go to Spokane he always engages with him. When we were visiting in May he brought a huge bin of trains out of storage to play with Reagan.

Happy Birthday Burke!
Wish we were there to celebrate with you!

Why yes...we allow our children to stand on the dishwasher door, don't you?  Well, we couldn't really stop this little guy from climbing, just like his mama!  Rachel was always caught climbing, swinging or jumping from anything and everything.  Once, she took me from the bathtub, I was about 18 months, and we climbed up the roof of our garage.  I'm not quite sure how I really got up there, but there were some naked buns on top of the garage!  I'll have to dig out the picture sometime and scan it.

 Fast forward a few years...

Such a cute picture.  Burke & a family friend just got done making homemade ice-cream.  There's no evidence that Burke tasted it as they were making it:)

Reagan was just a few months old.

Last May my sister Jenny made Reagan the sweetest train cake for his birthday.  Here Burke is decorating his piece.

Love you Burke!
