18 Months

Really?  It's already been 18 months?  I can hardly believe time has passed us by so quickly.  Camp seems to be cruising through each phase and reaching milestones far too quickly for this mama.  I'd like it if he stayed small for a while longer, please.

Stats -
31 1/2 inches (25th percentile)
26 pounds 4 ounces (55th percentile)

So we've known this all along, but we've got a short stalky little guy on our hands.  He continues to do everything to keep up with his older brother.

Camp at 18 months -

  • Favorite words - "Ray Ray" - Reagan, Mama, Dada, dog dog, nack nack (snack), bike bike...yep everything comes in twos.  He has a collection of other words & I can't wait for him to be able to communicate all his needs clearly because he knows exactly what he wants & needs but can't always communicate them.
  • He is a runner & climber just like his brother.
  • He runs to the top of the stairs as soon as he hears his daddy open up the garage door.
  • He loves football, basketball, baseball, and soccer.  He loves sports.  He will sit and watch football with Kai and loves to shoot hoops with him at the park.
  • He has become quite the picky eater:(  I'm hoping this is just a phase & he'll grow out of it.
  •  The cutest thing of all, which I know will come back at some point in my life to haunt me, Camp signs "no, no" after doing something he knows he shouldn't be doing.  Usually he looks right at me, scrunches up his nose and says "no, no".  Sigh. Back story - "no" was one of my first words, both spoken and signed.  My family was involved in a horrific accident when I was about the same age as Camp.  I am told, Rachel and I were sent to stay with my grandmother because my mom was in a coma in Montana, and my dad stayed behind to care for my mother and all my other siblings had other injuries.  Rachel and I were the only ones that escaped unharmed.  And to think...I was sitting on my mother's lap in the front seat when the accident occurred.  Anyway, Rachel being the daring child that she was, got herself  into a lot of mischief & my grandmother apparently used the word "no" a lot.  Apparently I began mimicking her, following her around saying "no, no" both spoken & signed.

Disregard the low monotone voice, mama has a chest cold!
  • Allergic to bugs, hence the swollen face at the sight of a mosquito!  As you can see in the video, he got attacked by a mosquito last night:(

Just love our little guys!
