Not Our Best Day

So it all started last night when I commented on my friend Melissa's blog. Her son got a bug bite on his ear & I told her not to worry because it has happened to both of my boys. We went for a walk to get Reagan from school and what do you know, by the time we were headed home Camp had a bug bite on his forehead. Swelled up quickly to about the size of a dime. No biggie, happens all the time. Think my boys are allergic to Mosquitos? I think so!

So this is what we woke up to this morning...


Right side of his forehead is swollen as well as his left ear.



Again it's happened before so I headed off to work for the day.

Came home and Camp looked like Quasimodo.



So we headed off to Urgent Care to get it checked out because pediatrician's office had no more appointments left for the day.

We saw a very nice doctor, had not just 1 but 2 lollipops & got a prescription for some antibiotics.



Picked Reagan up from school which Camp loooooves!



Got home & took Isabella out for a walk. Camp took 2 steps along the sidewalk and went down and wouldn't you know which part of his body hit the sidewalk first...his head, right where the bug got him! Within seconds he had a large goose egg the size of a golf ball! No joke! Luckily my neighbor was outside & offered to watch Reagan while I carted Camp back to the doctor.

Long story short...I considered taking him to the ER, got there to see a waiting room full of people with germs everywhere, my doctor called and suggested I treat it like any other bump, ice it & five him ibuprofen, I listened and took Camp on home for observation. He's acting as if nothing is wrong:)



Kai came home and said be looks like Baby Ruth from Goonies & the pictures don't really do it justice. We outlined the swelling and are hoping the Motrin & antibiotics will help the swelling come down over night.

It won't be the last time we experience something like this...we have 2 boys after all!
