Story time...practicing "Bumpers on the floor. Hands in the Fishbowl." Camp is not messing around.
They participated in Literacy Centers.
Here Reagan is practicing reading a book. Later in the day he went down to read to our Principal. Reagan knows that he has treats and prizes in his office. Reagan also knows that those prizes are for kids at our school that do great things. Every once in a while our Principal gives Reagan one of the prizes, but it has been a while. Reagan read his book to our Principal and was rewarded with a jump rope. He also had his eye on a Husky with soccer shorts. He convinced me that he needed to go back down and read another story. Then the conversation between Reagan and my Principal went something like this:
Reagan: So you know my brother really likes Huskies.
Principal: Oh really?
Reagan: Yeah, and he really likes wearing soccer shorts.
Principal: Hmmm, that's interesting
Reagan: You know, you have a Husky over there that is wearing soccer shorts.
Guess what Reagan came back to my classroom with tucked under his arm? A Husky wearing soccer shorts, just for Camp! AND now my Principal has informed me that I owe him $24 for the jump rope and Husky with soccer shorts. He told me he couldn't resist Reagan's argument and charm! Ha!
Reagan colored in a butterfly on the Promethean Board while my students were designing their own butterflies on their t-shirts.
You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard this...
"You must love teaching. Teacher's have the easiest jobs."
Apparently those people have never asked these two because they were asleep within seconds of leaving the school parking lot.
