I'll probably say this every year...
He's already 6? I can hardly believe time has gone by so fast! Look at that little guy...
and look at him now!
Reagan has grown up a lot in the last year. He is super excited about being around other kids at school, loves learning and has a very sweet and gentle disposition. He surprises me sometimes with his sense of empathy. Of course he has his moments, but overall he is a great little guy and I couldn't imagine life without him!
Of course one of the big topics of conversation from about Christmas on is Birthday Parties! First we celebrate mine, then Campbell's, then Daddy's and then finally Reagan's! REALLY my birthday is the very last of the year but the build up starts right around the Holidays. This year we opted for a small Birthday party with some of Reagan's closest friends. They are BIG into sleepovers so we decided we would give it a go. Just 1 week before his Birthday party he switched themes! Good thing I hadn't started anything in preparation for his party, other than some pinning on Pinterest. Last minute game change to Lego Ninjago. Luckily I have had some experience with Legos so it wasn't too hard to recreate.
Goodie Bags
- Paper Bags (Found at Michaels)
- Colored Cardstock
- Large hole puncher
- Avery Full Sheet Labels
See how fun the hole puncher is!
The boys even helped me glue on the Lego dots.
I printed stickers from the internet to make Ningajo eyes for the back side of the bag.
Then we stuffed the bags with a Ninjago t-shirt, book, Pocky Sticks, Fortune cookies and gum!
I also used the eyes to decorate the balloons.
Pin the Eyes on the Ninja
- White butcher paper
- Old cardboard box
- Black Marker
- Avery Full Sheet Labels
I took an old box and cut it up. Then I wrapped it up just like a present and traced the Ninja. Luckily I have a projector at school that I used to do the tracing. There's no way I could do that free hand. Then I used the Ninjago eyes left over from the bags.
The Great Devourer
- 1 cucumber
- small tomatoes (I used heirloom tomatoes from Trader Joes)
- Slices of cheese
- 2 toothpicks
This was the simplest project by far! It took me less than 10 minutes to create.
T-Shirts
- Multicolor t-shirts
- Jolee's Easy Image Iron on Transfer Sheets
- Samurai Font
I washed all the t-shirts first. Then I printed the Ninjago eyes with each child's name underneath. Then I ironed them onto the t-shirts. Yes, it really was that simple.
I only ruined one because I had the heat too high, but it was Camp's and he didn't mind:)
Paper Products
- Cups ($ Store)
- Avery Full Sheet Labels
Ready for the Party!
Not going to lie...the first hour or so with 6 kids under the age of 6 running around the house I was starting to think "Oh No! What have I gotten myself into?" Thankfully after dinner, some running around outside, a game, dessert, presents and a movie all was well!
Keeping with our theme we got some Asian soda!
Brady couldn't be bothered with the Mamarazzi!
Everyone slept relatively well. Reagan & Brady came up around 3:30 and snuck into his bed. Then Camp came up around 5:30. Despite the early wake-ups everyone slept in until 7!
We had buttermilk pancakes and sausage for breakfast.
You can tell by the looks of their sweet little faces that everyone was tired and was sure to have a nap later in the day! Reagan actually put himself down for a nap without being asked to do so! That's how tired he was!
Happy Birthday Reagan!
