National Zoo

Before getting to the zoo...

On Thursday I got to stay home with Reagan while he battled his fever which reached 104.1!  I took the opportunity to do some cleaning while he was lounging around.  Seriously, he barely left the couch.  I came back into the living room to find Reagan peeking out of the toy basket.

National Zoo
Lions...

and Tigers...

and Bears!  Oh my!
Well not exactly.  The closest we got to seeing a bear was the Sloth Bear and he was hiding out of view where no pictures could be taken of him.

As I was feeding Camp this morning, Reagan came in and began spouting off facts about the Three Toed Sloth.  We decided since we didn't have any plans for the day, that it would be the perfect day to go to the zoo. Unfortunately we didn't find the Three Toed Sloth today but we got to see a lot of other animals!
Pawparazzi...these new lion cubs drew quite the crowd.  Everyone was camped out with their gigantic lenses waiting for the lions to do something interesting.

Mama Lion

I could have sat there all day watching the 5 baby cubs.  They were definitely my favorite of the day!

Orangutan climbing above us!

Bebe Elephant.  He doesn't look so small, but in comparison to the other elephants, he was tiny and a way more rambunctious!

Red Panda Bear

River Otter aka Marley from Penguins of Madagascar
Sad when all your child references to animals have to do with t.v. shows.  At least he's learning something about them, right?

Reagan's favorite part today...the grotesque Naked Mole Rats!  Ewe!

Meerkats

You an't really tell, but the boys are sporting their Husky gear!  Go Huskies!
