This weekend we traveled to Kutztown, Pennsylvania for Jen and Ben's Baby Shower. It was our first road trip as a family since becoming a family of 4! The boys have been on plenty of long car rides, but we haven't packed up the car and headed off since Camp was born.
I stole this pic of Ben & Jen from her facebook page. Aren't they just adorable?!?
The Backstory
Kai and Ben met in London while "studying abroad" in Law School. From the sound of it there wasn't a lot of studying, instead they discovered they both have a love for music and share the same political views. Ben and Jen made the trek across the country to attend our wedding and we also were able to attend their wedding in September 2008 in Bar Harbor, Maine.
The happy couple on their wedding day!
Jen made these cute buttons for guests.
After the wedding the couple & their guests set sail on the Margaret Todd Schooner
Back to our weekend...
We stopped over in Lancaster for some Outlet Shopping at Pottery Barn & lunch at Sonic.
While I was at the shower Kai took the boys to the Kutztown Train Station.
After the shower we took the boys to Ballocity, a wild place with lots of balls!
Reagan retrieved balls from the ball pit down below and loaded the gun for a new friend. Eventually Reagan moved up in the ranks and shot the gun himself. I am telling you this place was WILD!
I believe his words were "Mom, now it's your turn to go get more balls and I will shoot the gun!"
Ha! There was no chance I was going to go down below and retrieve balls while children shot at me...no thank you!
Then it was off to dinner with the Nevius family! Ben is a huge fan of Hibachi grills.
See the stream of Sake mid air?
Round 2 - more Sake for Ben!
We thought Reagan would enjoy it a little more. He wasn't so sure of the flames and the loud fans that accompany the Hibachi grill.
The boys woke up bright and early per usual.
We found a little diner on the main street.
Kai's kind of place...
and headed home.
We can't wait to meet Baby Nevius sometime this Spring! Ben & Jen are going to be wonderful parents. Baby Nevius is a lucky gal!
