At it again

This weekend Kai had lots of time with the boys as I attended a friend's Baby Shower on Saturday and then hosted a Bridal Shower for my friend Becky on Sunday!

Camp eating lunch with Daddy.  Is that a cookie I see for lunch?  Hmmm...may need to talk with him about that! Ha!

Apparently baking cookies has become a new hobby of mine!  I am really enjoying it and am wondering how I can turn this into a profitable gig.  Wouldn't that be fun!  It all started when I was planning Camp's 1st Birthday party.  I met a woman at Starbucks that has her own little cookie company.  She makes cookies for order and then also travels to various farmer's markets and sells them.  Anyhow, I snagged her business card and contacted her and inquired about cookies for Camp's birthday.  I had envisioned a number "1" decorated with colorful icing.  Needless to say our conversation ended when we started negotiating the price.  I got it down to 36 cookies for $100 or something like that.  Typically she charges $3.00 per cookie and was willing to give me a deal:)  All I remember thinking was "I could make them and save a little bit of money."  Since then I have thrown myself into being Sally the cookie maker, apron and all!  Just kidding about the apron part, although I have a really cute one and should probably take to wearing it instead of wearing the icing and flour.  I already had an awesome sugar cookie recipe (Thanks Becky!) and have since found an icing recipe that is both delicious and easy to decorate with (http://sweetsugarbelle.blogspot.com/).  Now I just need to master my craft and we'll see about making this a little side gig.  Not going to give up my day job yet...
