Thankful

This year we have so many things to be thankful for.
We have two healthy boys.
We have each other.
And we have wonderful friends to share Thanksgiving with us when our family isn't near.

This year we joined the Raak & Graves family for Thanksgiving.  We always have a great time with all of them.  Somehow 3 out of the 4 Graves children ended up in this area and we've gotten to know all of them over the years.

Since I wasn't hosting and didn't have a house to decorate or clean, I decided I would try to make my Mom's Whole Wheat Rolls.  I've watched her make them a million times or so and thought it was about time I give it a try.  They weren't bad for my first time but I can definitely see some improvements the next go around.

They seriously take some craft, which someday I will have.
I've yet to try making my own turkey.  Since my brother has been frying ours up, for the last few years I've had no need to try.  We injected one with honey & apple cider and the other with Cajun spices.  Both were super yummy!  At some point, however, I would love to dress a turkey and do the whole stuffing thing, but when you have someone to fry one for you, the choice is pretty simple.

33 minutes and wallah!  Done!

Camp loves his Uncle Scott!

I was so surprised to see Nick home from college.  He returned from his mission to Peru in August and then went straight off to school so I hadn't seen him since he'd been back.  He was away when Camp was born and so this was their first meeting.  Camp was playing shy and then finally warmed up just before we had to leave.

On the way to the Raak house Reagan wasted no time searching the Black Friday ads for things he thinks he needs for Christmas.

Sara & Paul had the tables set so beautifully!

Sara even made a kids table with a turkey day coloring table cloth!  So clever!

Henry the ham!

Did I mention Henry is a total Ham?  He knew just how to get everyone laughing, by scooping up handfuls of mashed potatoes and shoving them into his mouth.  Surprisingly most of them made it in and very few landed on the floor!

Such a doll baby!

Thank you for hosting us for Thanksgiving.
We are especially thankful for friends like you!
