Happy Birthday Reagan and Grandma Nancy!
Reagan shares his birthday with a very special someone...Grandma Nancy! We feel very lucky to have Grandma here to share her birthday with Reagan every year.
As a mother, I'm sure that I'll always look back and say something like "I can't believe Reagan is already ___ years old." Well I'm going to say it...I can't believe Reagan is already 5 years old! When he was born it was hard for me to imagine what he would be like by the time he turned 5 and suddenly we're here! It's a big milestone...he'll be starting kindergarten in the fall. Making decisions about what school he will attend, what programs we want him to get into etc. is really hard as a parent. We've applied for him to attend one of the language immersion programs, making the decision one which one, Chinese, French or Spanish is difficult to say the least. He's on the wait list for a number of the schools so the decision may already be made for us. It is a lottery to get in, and so far we are #4 for Chinese and all the way up to #278 for Spanish. I guess we'll revisit that option if and when we get notice that he's made it off the wait list. However, I am completely fine with him going to his neighborhood school and it would be easier for us for a number of reasons. However, making the decision based on the fact that it is "easiest" when considering our child's education is not the route we will more than likely take. Sigh...decisions, decisions. Anyhow...we have been celebrating his 5th all weekend long!
Grandma let Reagan open one of his gifts in the morning before school. Someone else was just as excited to get in on the action!
Thanks Grandma!!!
While Reagan was at school Camp helped me wrap some presents up. He was quite excited to use up as much tape as possible wrapping up the gifts!
School Party
We took pizza, juice boxes and cupcakes to Reagan's school. The kids had just come in from a very steamy recess. The humidity is definitely starting to set in and its evident from the looks of these little tykes!
Camp fit right in with the big kids.
Reagan loves being a leader, but when the attention is on him he becomes very quiet and shies away.
At Home
After dinner we came home and held our own little celebration with a frozen Carvel ice-cream cake. Camp blew out the candles several times before we could get through the Happy Birthday song.
We finished off the evening with Reagan opening up a few more gifts from all of us!
Surprise, surprise...more Legos!
It's Party Time!
So this mama had a lot of fun taking up some DIY tasks for Reagan's party. I can't take credit for all the things I created, as Pinterest has become a good friend of mine and I got a lot of ideas from other mommy blogs!
I had a great vision of recreating some Lego cookies I saw here and here is how mine turned out. Not exactly like Sugarbelle, but a crowd pleaser none the less.
Throw back of the old Pin the Tail on the Donkey...instead pin the age on the Legoman! The kids loved this! I forgot how much fun this game could be.
Earlier in the week we made Lego crayons.
Ta da!
Gift bags
and party loot complete with small Lego set, Lego candy, Lego crayons & a Lego coloring book.
Our friend Jamie made cupcakes for us again! Just love her cupcakes! This time she made vanilla, chocolate, snickerdoodle and lemon! Nom...nom...
Thanks Jamie!
How cute is Reagan & his friend from school!?! I won't go on and on about how these two feel about each other as I think it's pretty obvious!
Girly friends
He goes from this...
to this when being sang to!
Yummy...yummy cupcakes!
Thanks to everyone who came and helped us celebrate Reagan's birthday. A special thanks to Jamie for the cupcakes and to Grandma Nancy for helping me finish up my DIY tasks! She is always such a tremendous help when she's here!
