Portland Relatives

Some of Kai's relatives from Portland were here visiting as they made their way from Boston down the East Coast to North Carolina.  Alan is one of Grandma Nancy's cousins on Grandpa Shiogi's side of the family.  I've met Alan's parents and just adore them, but it was my first time meeting Alan and his son Ryan.  Alan has never been to the East Coast and Ryan just finished college so they decided to take a trip together before Ryan starts teaching.

We went out for sushi and then to Yogi Berry for dessert. 

The boys just loved Ryan.  Apparently he too is a LEGO fan and took time to play legos with Reagan before they had to leave.

Camp just loved Ryan!

Their trip down the East Coast sounded amazing!  They were having such a great time checking out the sites, eating great food and attending as many sporting events possible.  I really admire the relationship Alan and Ryan have.  Their mutual respect for each other is very obvious and you can tell they really enjoy each other's company.  I look forward to the day when the boys can take trips like this with Kai.  I know they'll just have the best time together!

Sidenote - Last night we passed a Yogi Berry on our way home from soccer practice.  Camp asked "Are we going to get ice-cream with Ryan?  Where's Ryan?"  Apparently Ryan just made himself a new best friend.
