So all good things must come to an end. Our 6:10 am flight had us up before 4. I loaded the boys in the car with their jammies on, thinking that they'd sleep at least until we got to the airport but with the excitement they were wide awake. We got to the airport in plenty of time but the lines to check in were out of control. You couldn't help but feel a little bit of panic with everyone else around you in a tizzy. We got checked in and then of course the security line was just as long. Luckily there is a special line for people just like us that are traveling with small children! At last. We zipped through security to hear the last call for our flight! Thank goodness we didn't have to stand in the security line otherwise we probably would have missed our flight. We ran for the gate and made it! Whew! However, when I got to the bottom of the ramp to gate check our stroller the wheel came flying off! I checked it through to BWI and figured I'd figure it out once I got there. Our stroller has lasted for 5 years, through 2 children and many, many cross country flights. It was rather untimely but we'll make do. The boys both slept a little on the flight and our layover in Kansas City was short and sweet. Just enough time to use the bathroom and get me some coffee. After traveling for hours and hours we were happy to be home and to be greeted at the airport by my friend Jen in a very clean car! Kai had my car all sparkly and clean while I was away!
Woah! Look at those bags! I guess it's justified, we were gone for 6 weeks and the boys were spoiled!
