Day 16: Uwajimaya

The first place Kai wanted to go when he arrived was Uwajimaya. But before eating we built up our appetite by shopping for new Seattle sports gear.  Camp loves soccer jerseys and Kai is always on the hunt for new Husky apparel.

I mean seriously...who would want to be a Cougar?

We met Grandma, Grandpa, Mari and Teo at Uwajimaya for lunch. Yummy!!! The boys enjyed looking at all the fish & tanks of prawns, lobsters and crabs. Kai's grandparents have been such an amazing influence in is life and we want our boys to be able to spend as much time as they can with them. They just love them!
Checking out the craw fish (at least that's what I think they were?) Some of them were still crawling about!

I just love the way Grandma and Grandpa look at our boys.

On our way out Reagan and Camp each got their own pack of special gum.  Someone should tell Daddy 2 year olds don't really chew gum yet though.

Wish we had something that resembled Uwajimaya at home!

We have a lot of children's books about Seattle and in one of them it references the Ballard Locks.  We decided to take a quick tour of the locks before nap time.  We arrived just in time to see some of the boats being loaded up.

And we got to see the bridge go up!

Bye, bye boats!

I had never been to the other side to see the salmon climb the fish ladder.  I think I was just as excited as the boys!

Then for dinner we visited an old stomping ground of Kai's, The Spaghetti Factory.  I'm a big fan of the miethera & meat sauce myself and Kai's favorite is the clam sauce.  Not a fancy joint, but perfect for the kids!
